(wgvu) - DETROIT (AP) - Excerpts of text messages revealed in an 18-page
document show Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his former top
aide engage in graphic sex talk.
The pair also discussed a potential reorganization of the police
department's internal affairs department that they believed was
investigating their relationship.
Wayne County Judge Robert Colombo Junior ordered the document
released today. It was recovered from the computer of Michael
Stefani, an attorney who represented three police officers in
whistle-blowers' lawsuits.
Colombo says he thinks the document directly led to the deal
reached between the plaintiffs and the city. A lawyer for former
Chief of Staff Christine Beatty says the document shouldn't have
been released.
