Legislative Recalls
order might have on a recall effort targeting Democratic House
Speaker Andy Dillon.
Wayne County Circuit Judge William Giovan on Friday ordered the
recall campaign not to use petition circulators living outside
Dillon's House district.
Recall organizers say they aren't using out-of-district
circulators. Dillon supporters disagree and say the recall group is
breaking state law. Legal challenges to block the recall could
continue.
Recall supporters must collect more than 8,700 valid voter
signatures by early May to get an election scheduled.
Dillon, of Redford Township, is targeted for possible recall
because he voted last year to raise state taxes.
