POLICE SHOOTING

(wgvu) - A RECKLESS DRIVING SUSPECT THOUGHT TO BE
HOLED UP IN HIS HOUSE AFTER AUTHORITIES SAY HE SHOT THE CAPAC
POLICE CHIEF AND A SHERIFF'S DEPUTY APPARENTLY SLIPPED AWAY ON
FOOT.
THAT FORCED THE START OF A MANHUNT MORE THAN FIVE HOURS AFTER
POLICE THOUGHT THEY HAD HIM SURROUNDED IN CAPAC, A SMALL COMMUNITY
ABOUT 45 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF DETROIT.
POLICE SAY THEY BELIEVED DON BURKE WAS INSIDE WITH A RIFLE USED
IN THE SHOOTING AND HOPING TO TALK HIM INTO SURRENDERING.
POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR THE 50-YEAR-OLD, WHO'S 5-11 AND HAS A
LIMP.
THEY SAY THEY BELIEVE HE HAS A FIREARM WITH HIM.
