AND AMERICAN AXLE CHIEF RICHARD DAUCH ARE MEETING IN AN EFFORT TO
END A NEARLY 6-WEEK-OLD STRIKE AT THE AUTO PARTS MAKER.
AMERICAN AXLE SPOKESWOMAN RENEE ROGERS SAYS THE MEETINGS ARE
PRODUCTIVE AND SAYS THE TWO LEADERS WILL MEET AGAIN TODAY.
SHE SAYS THE FULL BARGAINING TEAMS WILL RETURN TO THE TABLE
TOMORROW.
WORKERS AT FIVE AMERICAN AXLE PLANTS IN MICHIGAN AND NEW YORK
HAVE BEEN OFF THE JOB SINCE FEBRUARY 26TH IN A CONTRACT DISPUTE.
A PARTS SHORTAGE FROM THE STRIKE HAS HIT 29 GENERAL MOTORS
FACTORIES AND A HUMMER PLANT RUN BY AM GENERAL.
