POSITIVE TERRITORY.
GM SHARES CLOSED YESTERDAY DOWN 3 PERCENT AT $20.31, 43 CENTS
BELOW THE PREVIOUS 52-WEEK LOW OF $20.74.
FORD SHARES DROPPED 5 PERCENT TO $5.39, 11 CENTS LESS THAN THE
PREVIOUS 52-WEEK LOW OF $5.50.
THE TWO U.S. AUTO STOCKS DROPPED EVEN THOUGH THE DOW JONES
INDUSTRIAL AVERAGE FINISHED UP ABOUT A THIRD OF A PERCENT AT
12,145.
EARLY IN THE SESSION THE DOW WAS DOWN MORE THAN 220 POINTS, AND
GM SHARES FELL EVEN MORE SHARPLY.
GM'S LOW FOR THE DAY WAS $19, WHILE FORDS WAS $5.12.
