AIRPORT JOY RIDE
(2008-03-12)
(wgvu) -
- A FORMER AIRPORT VALET IN GRAND
RAPIDS HAS BEEN SENTENCED FOR TAKING A 150-MILE JOY RIDE IN A
CUSTOMER'S HUMMER 3.
LUIS OSORIO-CEPEDA SAID DURING HIS GUILTY PLEA IN A KENT COUNTY
COURTROOM THAT WHAT HE DID WAS "A MISTAKE." HE WAS SENTENCED
TUESDAY TO A YEAR OF PROBATION AND 80 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE.
HUMMER OWNER MAX BLAKE SAYS HE TALKED WITH PROSECUTORS TO ENSURE
CHARGES AGAINST THE 25-YEAR-OLD OSORIO-CEPEDA WERE LOWERED FROM A
FELONY TO A MISDEMEANOR.
BLAKE USED THE CHICAGO-BASED STANDARD PARKING VALET SERVICE AT
GERALD R. FORD AIRPORT IN DECEMBER FOR HIS WIFE'S SUV. ANOTHER
CUSTOMER COMPLAINED RECENTLY THAT SOMEONE WITHIN THE SAME SERVICE
RACKED UP 80 MILES ON HIS MERCEDES.
