Cold Case Gets Colder
(wgvu) - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Cold-case officers are downgrading
their investigation of a 22-year-old murder, and the victim's
mother says she's losing hope.
Bonita Lynne Oom (OHM) was 34 when last seen leaving her
apartment in September 1986. Her body was found in woods near a
lake in Kent County.
The Kent County Metro Cold Case unit announced last September it
was taking up the matter.
But state police Detective Rob Davis tells "Grand Rapids
Press" columnist Tom Rademacher that the accompanying media blitz
didn't lead to many tips.
Eighty-four-year-old Celeste Oom says she'd like police to stay
on her daughter's case, but she's not in control of that.
