TEXT-MESSAGING SEX SCANDAL AND $8.4 MILLION WHISTLE-BLOWERS'
LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT ARE PART OF THE REASON HE WANTS VOTERS TO RECALL
KILPATRICK.
THE DETROIT NEWS AND DETROIT FREE PRESS REPORT THAT THE
42-YEAR-OLD IS A CANDIDATE IN THE 2009 DETROIT CITY COUNCIL RACE.
DETROIT CITY CLERK JANICE WINFREY SAYS 57,357 VALID SIGNATURES
ARE NEEDED TO SCHEDULE A RECALL. THEY MUST BE COLLECTED WITHIN 90
DAYS.
A KILPATRICK SPOKESWOMAN CRITICIZED YESTERDAY'S DECISION BY THE
ELECTION COMMISSION.
