High School Student Dies USA (wgvu) - GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - An autopsy has found that a
Grand Rapids-area high school student who died a short time after
developing breathing problems at school had a blood clot in her
lung.
Eighteen-year-old Sara Smajic became ill Monday afternoon while
practicing during a play at Forest Hills Northern High School in
Kent County's Grand Rapids Township.
She died that afternoon at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital
in Grand Rapids.
Teacher Rhonda Gavalis tells The Grand Rapids Press the student
was a kind and wonderful person whom everyone enjoyed being around.
