Detroit Metropolitan Airport re-screened up to 2,000 passengers
after it was discovered that a metal detector wasn't working for
about 10 minutes.
Airport spokesman Michael Conway tells the Detroit Free Press
that passengers on planes and those waiting at gates for flights
were escorted out of concourses A and B in the Smith Terminal on
Sunday.
The Detroit News reports 1,600 to 2,000 passengers had to be
re-screened. The problem also was reported by WXYZ-TV and WDIV-TV.
Conway says the discovery was made about 10:45 a.m., and
operations were back to normal by about 1 p.m.
