Workplace Noose
warehouse late last week is prompting a company investigation.
The Lansing State Journal reports that the noose was left out
during the first shift Friday, according to an employee memo
attributed to the plant manager and a company vice president.
The warehouse just west of Lansing supplies General Motors'
Lansing Delta Township plant.
According to the memo, some employees said the noose was meant
as a joke. A first-shift worker reportedly had complained about the
workload and said he felt like hanging himself.
The memo says the noose is a powerful symbol that could have
offended other workers, even if it was meant as a joke.
