Wife Slaying
(wgvu) - DETROIT (AP) - A year and a week after telling police his wife
had gone missing, Stephen Grant is headed to prison for strangling
and dismembering her.
One of southeast Michigan's more lurid murder cases of recent
years culminated four days before Christmas, when a Macomb County
jury found Grant guilty of second-degree murder.
His sentencing in the February 2007 death of Tara Lynn Grant is
tomorrow morning before Circuit Judge Diane Druzinski.
Grant faces up to life in prison. Prosecutors want him to serve
at least 50 to 80 years, while the defense says he should serve a
minimum 15 to 25 years.
Tara Grant's parents and her sister, Alicia Standerfer, are
expected to make victim impact statements.
