(wgvu) - MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY HAS SET AN
AUGUST 2008 OPENING FOR ITS NEW CAMPUS IN THE PERSIAN GULF.
THE EAST LANSING SCHOOL HAS BEEN WORKING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR ON
PLANS FOR A BRANCH IN DUBAI IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, 7,000
MILES FROM ITS MICHIGAN CAMPUS.
MICHIGAN STATE SAYS THE DUBAI CAMPUS WILL BEGIN OPERATIONS WITH
10 OR MORE FACULTY MEMBERS, MOSTLY FROM EAST LANSING. OFFICIALS
TELL THE DETROIT NEWS THAT THE CAMPUS WILL ADD ONE CLASS EACH YEAR
AND WILL HAVE ABOUT 800 STUDENTS AND ABOUT 40 FACULTY MEMBERS AFTER
FOUR YEARS.
TECOM INVESTMENTS OWNS DUBAI INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CITY AND
APPROACHED MICHIGAN STATE OFFICIALS IN 2006 ABOUT OPENING THE DUBAI
BRANCH.
