White Stripe Troubles
(2008-02-06)
(wgvu) - The White Stripes are facing a lawsuit from a
Quebec journalist whose voice is on one of the Detroit rock group's
tunes.
Former Radio-Canada host Dominique Payette says she was stunned
to discover a 10-second clip of her interview with a little girl in
"Jumble, Jumble" by the White Stripes.
She's suing the band, demanding $70,000 in damages and the
removal of the album from store shelves.
Payette says the girl's voice is used in a way that might be
sexually suggestive.
Canadian Press left messages seeking comment for a White
Stripes' publicist.
The group consists of drummer Meg White and singer-guitarist
Jack White.
