Craigslist-Hit Man
(2008-02-05)
(wgvu) - SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A federal court in Michigan is
delaying the return to California of a woman accused of trying to
arrange a murder using the Craigslist Web site.
The judge granted Ann Marie Linscott a two-week stay.
Linscott was arrested two weeks ago on accusations she used
online advertising to find a hit man to kill a romantic rival
living in Oroville, California.
Federal prosecutor Michelle Rodriguez says Linscott is trying to
stay near her husband and supporters rather than being tried in
California.
The Butte County Sheriff's Department says the intended target
of the hit has taken a leave of absence from her county job and has
moved to another country.
Linscott allegedly offered $5,000 for someone to kill her.
