Kalamazoo investigators take new look at boy's 1998 death in fire
(2008-02-04)
(wgvu) - KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - A team of Kalamazoo detectives is taking
another look at the unsolved case of a five-year-old boy killed by
an arson fire set ten years ago today.
The fire ripped through the subdivided house where Marcel Randle
lived with his mother, Felicia Walker, and his sister, Tynesha, who
is now 13.
Marcel was being watched by a family friend when the fire broke
out.
Fifteen people escaped the burning building but firefighters had
to go in after the boy.
He suffered smoke inhalation and burns, and died two days later.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety investigators determined
that an arsonist started the fire.
But no arrests were made and the case went cold.
