Man arraigned in Mich. slaying of wife
(wgvu) - ROCKFORD, Mich. (AP) - A 31-year-old man arrested in Texas in
the 2004 slaying of his wife in Michigan has been arraigned on a
first-degree murder charge.
Timothy Dawson was in a Rockford courtroom on Thursday.
He was extradited to Michigan after being arrested last week at
his home in Kerr County, Texas.
The body of 23-year-old Julia Dawson was found in Montcalm
County about three weeks after she disappeared.
The couple lived in Sparta at the time. Timothy Dawson later
moved to Texas.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that a court affidavit says the
woman told a relative two days before she vanished that she was
leaving her husband.
A telephone message seeking comment was left at the Grand Haven
office of defense attorney Judy Bregman.
