DETROIT MAYOR
(2008-01-30)
(wgvu) - DETROIT MAYOR KWAME KILPATRICK PLANS TO ADDRESS
THE CITY TONIGHT FROM HIS CHURCH.
HE HASN'T SPOKEN PUBLICLY SINCE LAST WEEK'S REVELATION OF
SEXUALLY ORIENTED TEXT MESSAGES BETWEEN HIM AND CHIEF OF STAFF

BOTH DENIED THEY HAD A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WHEN THEY TESTIFIED
IN A WHISTLE-BLOWER LAWSUIT BROUGHT AGAINST THE CITY.
KILPATRICK'S 7:30 P.M. SPEECH AT GREATER EMMANUEL INSTITUTIONAL
CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, BUT TV AND RADIO
WILL CARRY IT.
IN A RELATED MATTER, THE DETROIT NEWS IS JOINING THE DETROIT
