(wgvu) - HIGH WINDS HAVE KNOCKED OUT POWER TO NEARLY 100,000 HOMES AND BUSINESSES IN MICHIGAN'S LOWER PENINSULA AND
CONTRIBUTED TO BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN THE WESTERN AND NORTHERN PARTS OF THE STATE.
DTE ENERGY REPORTED ABOUT 67,000 POWER OUTAGES, AND CMS ENERGY SAID IT HAD ABOUT 32,000 OUTAGES AS OF 6 A.M. BOTH UTILITY
COMPANIES SAY THE NUMBER OF OUTAGES IS RISING FROM THE CONTINUED HIGH WINDS.
WIND GUSTS OF UP TO 60 MPH HAVE BEEN REPORTED, CAUSING DOWNED POWER LINES, TREE LIMBS AND WIDESPREAD BLOWING SNOW.
IN DETROIT, IT WAS 8 DEGREES BUT THE WIND MADE IT FEEL LIKE 15 BELOW.
