ENGINEERING GROUP TO SPEED UP DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRIC AND HYBRID
VEHICLES AND GET THEM TO MARKET MORE QUICKLY.
THE GROUP IS SIMILAR TO ONE FORMED BY CHRYSLER IN SEPTEMBER.
AUTOMAKERS ARE RACING TO DEVELOP BATTERY AND HYDROGEN FUEL CELL
TECHNOLOGY TO POWER CARS AND TRUCKS.
THE GM TEAM WILL HAVE OPERATIONS IN THE DETROIT SUBURBS OF
WARREN AND MILFORD, AS WELL AS IN GERMANY AND CHINA.
THE COMPANY HAS SAID IT HAS A TARGET OF 2010 TO BRING THE
CHEVROLET VOLT ELECTRIC VEHICLE TO MARKET.
