DeVos unlikely to get approval for helipad near house
near his home in Kent County's Ada Township.
But it appears unlikely that the former Amway Corp. president -
who ran for governor on the Republican ticket in 2006 - will be
allowed to do that anytime soon.
Township planning Director Jim Ferro tells WOOD-TV in Grand
Rapids that an ordinance will be drafted and presented to the
township's trustees that would allow helipads only in agricultural
or industrial districts.
This would prevent anyone in the township from building private
helipads for landing helicopters in residential areas.
