Clare police officers cleared of wrongdoing in motel shooting
(wgvu) - HARRISON, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say two Clare police officers
were justified in using deadly force against an armed 51-year-old
schizophrenic man outside a motel last year.
Clare County Prosecutor Norman Gage has cleared police Chief
Dwayne Miedzianowski and Officer Jeremy McGraw of wrongdoing in the
September 18 death of William Scozzari.
Scozzari died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The Saginaw News reports Gage came to his conclusion after
reading the state police report of the investigation into the
shooting, autopsy results and other evidence.
The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant says Gage called the shooting
a tragedy for Scozzari's family, the officers involved and the
