UP Respiratory Therapists
Upper Peninsula has turned into a collaboration between Northern
Michigan University and Marquette General Hospital.
The NMU-MGH School of Respiratory Therapy is now open.
Officials tell WLUC-TV that the program couldn't come at a
better time given the national nursing shortage and an aging
population of health professionals.
The three-year program requires students to spend one year at
Northern on prerequisites and then two years learning in the
hospital.
Students have until June 1st to apply for the program. The first
group of students will begin next fall.
