NATURALIZATION FRAUD

(wgvu) - AN OHIO MAN WILL BE DEPORTED TO HIS NATIVE INDIA
FOR GETTING HIS U.S. CITIZENSHIP THROUGH FRAUD.
FEDERAL PROSECUTOR STEPHEN MURPHY SAYS 54-YEAR-OLD MOHAMMED
ABDUL MOHI OF TOLEDO ALSO HAS BEEN SENTENCED IN DETROIT TO ONE
YEAR'S PROBATION.
COURT RECORDS SHOW MOHI PLEADED GUILTY IN SEPTEMBER TO
NATURALIZATION FRAUD.
HE HAD BEEN ACCUSED OF LYING TO IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS IN JUNE
2004 WHEN APPLYING FOR CITIZENSHIP.
MOHI DENIED BEING CHARGED WITH ANY CRIME, BUT RECORDS SHOW HE
HAD BEEN ARRESTED FOUR MONTHS EARLIER IN FRASER.
MOHI LATER WAS SENTENCED IN JANUARY 2005 IN MACOMB COUNTY TO TWO
YEARS PROBATION FOR 4TH-DEGREE CRIMINAL SEXUAL CONDUCT AND
FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO A MINOR.
