(wgvu) - TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Police say a Michigan man drove four miles
in the wrong direction before his pickup slammed into a minivan,
killing five members of a Maryland family.
Michael Gagnon of Adrian has been charged with aggravated
vehicular homicide.
Police says tests showed the 24-year-old's blood-alcohol level
was more than three times Ohio's legal limit.
Yesterday's head-on crash on Interstate 280 in Toledo, Ohio,
killed 36-year-old Bethany Griffin, her 10-year-old son, Jordan,
and 8-week-old daughter, Vadi.
Seven-year-old Lacie Burkman and 10-year-old Haley Burkman also
died. The four children were siblings.
Three others in the van were injured in the crash. The family
was returning home after spending the holiday in the Detroit area.
