Absentee Ballot
(wgvu) - WASHINGTON (AP) - Absentee ballot requests for the 2008
presidential race are high in some parts of Michigan.
Lansing, Mich., city clerk Chris Swope estimates that three or
four employees have been working two to three hours a night to keep
up with absentee applications.
The ballots were made available in Michigan on December 1st for
its January 15th primary.
Voters in 10 other states also are casting absentee ballots.
This is all in advance of Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucuses
coming Thursday.
Absentee voting expands to a majority of the country in January.
Sixteen other states make ballots available to their voters before
the end of the month, including delegate-rich California on January
