Saginaw Study
can survive crashes of smaller private planes if on-board safety
systems are well-designed.
The 26-year-old Saginaw Valley State University freshman is one
of 10 students receiving grants from the school. He will get $9,700
for his research.
The U.S. Air Force veteran tells The Saginaw News there are up
to 10,000 cases from the past 25 years that he can study. The cases
include larger aircraft.
He plans to examine autopsy reports as part of the effort.
His data could be given to the Federal Aviation Administration
and plane manufacturers to help improve safety.
