Kellogg Foundation Record Year
(2007-12-17)
(wgvu) - BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) - The W.K. Kellogg Foundation says it
handed out $335 million in grants during the past year.
That's up nearly 17 percent from last year and the largest grant
total in the foundation's history.
The Battle Creek organization also has adopted a new mission
statement.
Cereal titan W.K. Kellogg established the foundation in 1930 to
promote the health, happiness and well-being of children.
Officials say the new mission statement refocuses their efforts
toward that end, to help vulnerable children achieve success and
contribute to society.
