Cross Burning
(wgvu) - A 26-year-old Ypsilanti man has been sentenced to
three years in prison for conspiring with three juveniles to burn a
5-foot wooden cross outside the home of a biracial family.
Ronald Joshua Youngblood pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court
in Detroit in August to civil rights conspiracy, interfering with
the victims' housing rights and possessing an unregistered firearm.
The U.S. attorney's office in Detroit says Youngblood
acknowledged that he and several friends burned the cross in June
2006 in front of the Sumpter Township home, about 30 miles
southwest of Detroit.
