(2007-12-10)
(wgvu) -
DELPHI CORPORATION'S PUSH TO EXIT BANKRUPTCY
CONTINUES.
AN ATTORNEY FOR DELPHI SAYS THE TROY-BASED AUTO SUPPLIER EXPECTS
TO BEGIN SOLICITING VOTES FOR ITS REORGANIZATION PLAN BY THE END OF
THE WEEK.
JACK BUTLER SAYS BANKRUPTCY JUDGE ROBERT DRAIN VERBALLY APPROVED
THE ORDER FRIDAY. THE DELPHI LAWYER SAYS THAT IF ALL CHANGES
REQUESTED BY DRAIN MEET HIS REQUIREMENTS, THE JUDGE WILL ENTER AN
ORDER TODAY.
DELPHI'S REORGANIZATION PLAN INCLUDES SHRINKING ITS UNIONIZED
WORK FORCE TO A FRACTION OF ITS FORMER SIZE AND SHIFTING

ITS PROPOSAL WOULD ULTIMATELY ELIMINATE 27,000 OF 33,000 UNION
