Landry vs. Kid Rock
musician's copyright infringement lawsuit against Kid Rock.
The judge ruled this week that Troy Landry didn't prove that Kid
Rock's "Somebody's Gotta Feel This" was a rip-off of his own
music.
Landry sued Atlantic Recording, Kid Rock and others in 2004,
claiming an eight-second hook in Rock's song was "substantially
similar" to songs he released in 1994.
Rock's lawyer says suing over the riff is like suing over the
idea of a talent competition.
Landry is identified in court records as a musician with a New
Orleans band.
