CHRYSLER OUTLOOK
(2007-12-07)
(wgvu) - FOR A NEWLY PRIVATE COMPANY, CHRYSLER HAS BEEN
PRETTY UPFRONT WITH THE NUMBERS ON ITS BALANCE SHEET.
TWICE IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS, TOP EXECUTIVES HAVE SAID CHRYSLER
WILL LOSE 1 (B) BILLION DOLLARS OR MORE THIS YEAR.
THAT HAS LED INDUSTRY ANALYSTS AND EMPLOYEES TO BELIEVE THE
COMPANY IS PREPARING WORKERS AND INVESTORS FOR FURTHER CUTS IN
MODELS, FACTORY CAPACITY AND JOBS.
CHRYSLER ANNOUNCED CUTS FOR NEXT MONTH AT PICKUP TRUCK PLANTS IN
THE DETROIT SUBURB OF WARREN, AS WELL AS AT PLANTS IN ST. LOUIS AND
MEXICO.
SALES OF PICKUPS HAVE SLOWED AS GAS PRICES HAVE BEEN RISING.
