Kid Rock- Lawsuit
(wgvu) - A federal judge has dismissed a Louisiana
musician's copyright infringement lawsuit against Kid Rock.
The judge says Troy Landry didn't prove that a Kid Rock song
called "Somebody's Gotta Feel This" was a ripoff of his own
U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon based her ruling on
expert testimony from both sides. She also listened to Kid rock's
song, and a song released by Landry in 1994, and concluded the
works were NOT "substantially similar."
Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, grew up in Macomb
County north of Detroit.
