Doe Dies
son-in-law rescued a deer from icy waters the other day.
But the animal died, and the men were further frustrated when
they couldn't have the remains processed and donated to charity.
Harvey Beute and Bruce Bowditch rescued the doe from Millhouse
Bayou, which branches off the Grand River a few miles east of Grand
Haven. The men, their wives and some neighbors tried to keep the
doe warm after it was pulled from the water. But it died a few
hours later.
They ended up burying the deer in the woods.
