CHRYSLER-LOSS
(2007-12-06)
(wgvu) - CHRYSLER CHIEF ROBERT NARDELLI SAYS THE COMPANY
IS HEADED FOR A 1.6 BILLION-DOLLAR LOSS THIS YEAR.
A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE STATEMENT SAYS NARDELLI REVEALED THE
LOSS TO A GROUP OF ENGINEERS AND DESIGNERS THIS WEEK.
NARDELLI IS HOME DEPOT'S FORMER CHIEF EXECUTIVE AND WAS HIRED
THIS YEAR BY CHRYSLER'S NEW OWNERS, CERBERUS CAPITAL MANAGEMENT.
HE TOLD THE ENGINEERS THAT REVENUE WILL BE LESS THAN 63 BILLION
DOLLARS.
IT WOULD BE THE COMPANY'S SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR OF LOSSES.
CHRYSLER LOST 618 MILLION DOLLARS IN 2006 AFTER MAKING 1.8
BILLION DOLLARS IN 2005.
