FORD SETTLEMENT
(2007-12-04)
(wgvu) - A JUDGE IN SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, HAS
GIVEN TENTATIVE APPROVAL TO A DEAL ENDING CLASS-ACTION LAWSUITS BY
800,000 FORD EXPLORER OWNERS.
THE OWNERS SAID THEIR VEHICLES LOST VALUE BECAUSE OF THE SUV'S
PERCEIVED ROLLOVER DANGER.
THE SETTLEMENT ENDS LAWSUITS AGAINST FORD IN CALIFORNIA,
CONNECTICUT, ILLINOIS AND TEXAS, BUT INJURY AND DEATH CLAIMS
INVOLVING THE EXPLORER WILL CONTINUE.
PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT EXPLORERS FROM MODEL YEARS 1991 THROUGH 2001
WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR $500 VOUCHERS TO BUY NEW EXPLORERS OR $300
VOUCHERS TO BUY OTHER COMPANY PRODUCTS.
