COME ON OVER
(2007-11-29)
(wgvu) - A LOCALLY PRODUCED EMMY AWARD WINNING CHILDREN'S TELEVISION SHOW GETS A NEW DIRECTOR---WHO HOPES TO TAKE THE PROGRAM TO A NEW LEVEL.
MOVING TO FULL TIME AT ENTHUSIASTIC PRODUCTIONS L.L.C. IS A NATURAL STEP FOR TERESA THOME, HEAD OF THE GRAND RAPIDS CHILDREN'S MUSEUM THESE PAST 11 YEARS.
SINCE 2004, THOME HAS BEEN SPLITTING HER WORK DAYS BETWEEN THE MUSEUM AND SERVING PART TIME WITH COME ON OVER, A HALF HOUR SHOW AIMED PRIMARILY AT KINDERGARTEN THROUGH FOURTH GRADERS.
FIGURING THERE JUST WEREN'T ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY, THOME OPTED TO LEAVE HER BELOVED TREE HOUSE BEHIND, ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT DECISIONS SHE SAYS SHE'S EVER MADE.
COME ON OVER IS DESIGNED FOR 5-9 YEAR OLDS, BUT THOME SAYS THEY'RE ALSO SPILLING OVER INTO 3 AND 4 YEAR OLDS, AND ALSO ATTRACTING SOME EARLY TEENS.
THOME SAYS IT'S HER DREAM TO TAKE IT TO A NATIONAL AUDIENCE AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE.
THE SHOW AIRS ON WOTV-4 SATURDAY MORNINGS AT 7:30.
