(wgvu) - A JUDGE HAS ORDERED THE REINSTATEMENT OF FOUR
BELLEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
THEY WERE EXPELLED AFTER PHOTOS OF THEM WITH WHAT APPEARED TO BE
GUNS, DRUGS AND PILES OF CASH APPEARED ON MYSPACE.COM.
VAN BUREN PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT PETE LAZAROFF HAS SAID
THAT THE PHOTOS SHOWN ON THE WEB SITE WERE TAKEN AFTER A LIMO
PICKED THE STUDENTS UP FROM A SCHOOL DANCE.
THE WAYNE COUNTY JUDGE CRITICIZED THE DISTRICT FOR FAILING TO
KEEP A RECORD OF THE CLOSED NOVEMBER 3RD DISCIPLINARY HEARING THAT
LED TO THE EXPULSIONS.
SHE SAYS THE SCHOOLS CAN HOLD A NEW HEARING BUT MUST DO SO BY
FRIDAY -- AND KEEP A RECORD THIS TIME.
