OSU, Michigan Game Generates Charity
(2007-11-13)
(wgvu) - COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Amid the usual heat surrounding the Ohio
State-Michigan game, fraternity brothers from the two schools will
reunite in an annual football relay to fight cancer.
About 240 men will run two game balls to Saturday's contest at
Michigan, taking 15-minute turns along a 186-mile route from
Columbus.
The Phi Gamma Delta and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternities hope to
raise $100,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Ohio State students will begin the fourth annual Rivalry Run at
3 a.m. Friday and are expected to hand off to the Michigan guys 15
hours later at the halfway point, in the northwest Ohio city of
Findlay.
The relay is scheduled to end in Ann Arbor at 9 a.m. Saturday,
three hours before game time.
