(wgvu) - TWO MEN WHO ESCAPED FROM A WASHTENAW
COUNTY PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION CENTER ARE BACK IN CUSTODY.
MICHIGAN STATE POLICE SAY THE MEN WERE ARRESTED IN THE MORNING
WHEN THEY TURNED UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT ST. JOSEPH MERCY
HOSPITAL.
THE ANN ARBOR NEWS REPORTS IT'S NOT CLEAR WHY THE MEN SHOWED UP
AT THE HOSPITAL.
POLICE SAY 36-YEAR-OLD SOVIRD ALLEN WARDLOW AND 20-YEAR-OLD DALE
ANDREW STUDAKER ESCAPED BY JUMPING A FENCE SUNDAY NIGHT.
STUDAKER IS FROM ST. CLAIR COUNTY, WHERE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
CHARGES ARE PENDING AGAINST HIM. WARDLOW IS FROM THE GRAND RAPIDS
AREA. HE IS CHARGED WITH ARMED ROBBERY.
THE CENTER FOR FORENSIC PSYCHIATRIC PROVIDES TREATMENT FOR
CRIMINAL DEFENDANTS FOUND INCOMPETENT TO STAND TRIAL OR ACQUITTED
BY REASON OF INSANITY.
