Burned Torso Murder
(2007-11-12)
(wgvu) - NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A Canton High School student
and another teenager have been arraigned in the slaying, burning
and mutilation of 26-year-old Daniel Sorenson.
Not guilty pleas have been entered on behalf of 17-year-old
Jean-Pierre Orlewicz and 18-year-old Alexander James Letkemann in
Romulus District Court.
Orlewicz' attorney, James C. Thomas, would not comment on the
case or his client's arrest.
Thomas says both teenagers are being held without bond. A
preliminary exam is scheduled for November 19th.
They are charged with one count each of first-degree
premeditated murder, felony murder and mutilation of a corpse.
Authorities say Sorenson of River Rouge repeatedly was stabbed
last Wednesday and his head sawed off. His burned torso and head
later were found in different locations.
