Legislators May Take Long Break
ready to finish work repealing a much-criticized services tax.
Both the House and Senate canceled sessions that were
tentatively set for Tuesday.
The sessions would have meant interrupting a two-week break held
each November. It's still possible the House and Senate could be
called back into session later in the two-week period.
Lawmakers are working to repeal a sales tax on some businesses
set to kick in December 1st. Negotiations on a final fix continue
between Democrats in the House and the Republican-led Senate.
Legislators might also be called back in to try and save a
scheduled January 15th presidential primary that's been derailed by
a court challenge.
