CLINTON-MICHIGAN
(2007-11-08)
(wgvu) - - FORMER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON SAYS INEQUALITY IN
INCOME, EDUCATION AND HEALTH CARE IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S LEADING
PROBLEMS TODAY.
HE SPOKE AT DETROIT'S MAX M. FISHER MUSIC CENTER AS PART OF
AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY MAGAZINE'S DISTINGUISHED SPEAKERS SERIES.
CLINTON SAYS "INTERDEPENDENCE" IS A BETTER WAY TO DESCRIBE THE
STATE OF THE WORLD TODAY THAN "GLOBALIZATION."
AND HE SAYS INTERDEPENDENCE CAN BE BOTH A GOOD AND A BAD THING.
CLINTON SAYS HE'S IMPRESSED BY THE DIVERSITY OF THE DETROIT
CROWD ON HAND TO HEAR HIM.
HE SAYS HE WONDERS IF SUCH A CROWD WOULD HAVE BEEN AS DIVERSE
HAD THE APPEARANCE OCCURRED 30 OR 40 YEARS AGO.
