Search Called Off for Suspected Mackinaw Bridge Jumper USA (wgvu) - ST. IGNACE, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have suspended their search
for a man believed to have jumped off the Mackinac Bridge.
Witnesses reported seeing a man jump Friday night from near the
center of the 5-mile-long bridge.
A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter and boat searched the area,
assisted by a passing cargo ship.
The Cheboygan Daily Tribune says the man is believed to be a
65-year-old resident of the Lower Peninsula. Police have not
released his name.
