ELLSWORTH OF MOUNT PLEASANT AND LEADERS OF VETERANS SERVICE
ORGANIZATIONS IN THE OVAL OFFICE BEFORE DISCUSSING HIS LATEST
WAR-SPENDING REQUEST TO CONGRESS.
JOHN ELLSWORTH SAYS HIS FAMILY SPOKE WITH BUSH ABOUT THEIR SON'S
BELIEF IN THE NEED TO REBUILD IRAQ AND FIGHT TERRORISM ABROAD.
THE YOUNGER ELLSWORTH DIED IN NOVEMBER 2004 WHILE ON
RECONNAISSANCE DURING A U.S. ASSAULT ON FALLUJAH. HE WAS ASSIGNED
TO A COMBAT SERVICE SUPPORT BATTALION 1 IN THE FIRST MARINE
EXPEDITIONARY FORCE IN CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA.
BUSH ASKED FOR $46 BILLION MORE TO FUND THE WAR EFFORTS IN IRAQ
AND AFGHANISTAN.
