State Health Insurance MICHIGAN (wgvu) - A state House committee overwhelmingly
approved legislation today that supporters say would increase
protections for people who buy their own health insurance coverage.
But opponents say the bills would give Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Michigan unfair advantages over competitors. They also say the
legislation would not necessarily protect people buying health
insurance.
Under the bills, individuals seeking health insurance coverage
would be required to fill out a health questionnaire from potential
carriers.
The bills are now headed to the House floor.
