(wgvu) - A MAN WHO ADMITTED HELPING SET FIRE TO THE HOME
OF A BLACK FAMILY WHO'D JUST MOVED INTO HIS MOSTLY WHITE
NEIGHBORHOOD IN TAYLOR...DRAWS AN EIGHT-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE.
HE APOLOGIZED IN COURT TO THE WOMAN HE HELPED DRIVE OUT OF THE
SUBURBAN DETROIT COMMUNITY AND ASKED FOR HER FORGIVENESS.
MICHAEL RICHARDSON PLEADED GUILTY LAST YEAR TO VIOLATING THE
FAMILY'S CIVIL RIGHTS IN 2002.
THE 35-YEAR-OLD WAS A KEY WITNESS IN THE CONVICTION OF TWO
CO-DEFENDANTS, ONE OF WHOM GOT 17 YEARS FOR LIGHTING THE FIRE.
