Wayne County Worker in Credit Scam
(2007-10-03)
(wgvu) - DETROIT (AP) - A 15-year Wayne County supervisor trusted with
her co-workers' personal information is among five people named in
an alleged identity theft ring.
The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report that four
felony counts were announced against 43-year-old Patricia Malone of
Berkley on Tuesday.
Malone is accused of stealing personal information from county
files and passing them on to others, who bilked 39 victims out of
more than $100,000 to throw a party.
The others arrested and charged in the scheme are Terry Lewis,
Dujuan Whitehead and Christopher Hackworth - all of Detroit. A
fifth person has not been named.
