Prayers To Honor Five in Crash
(wgvu) - UPLAND, Ind. (AP) - Indiana's Taylor University will use prayer
to mark the start of construction of a memorial chapel to honor
five who died in a crash.
Students on Sunday will be invited to stop at seven interactive
prayer stations.
Four students and a staff member died after their university van
collided with a semitrailer on Interstate 69. The case drew added
national attention after one of the dead students was misidentified
for weeks.
The mix-up wasn't discovered until Laura VanRyn's family
realized who they thought was their daughter was actually Whitney
Cerak, of Gaylord, Michigan.
Construction on the 1.7 million dollar chapel in Upland is
expected to be complete by April 26th, 2008, the second anniversary
of the crash.
