Fuel Economy
(2007-09-27)
(wgvu) - Hondas and Toyotas get the best mileage.
That's according to a government report on the average fuel
efficiency of 2007 model year vehicles.
The average fuel economy was 20.2 miles per gallon, the same as
2006 vehicles.
The Environmental Protection Agency says 2007 Honda vehicles
average 22.9 miles per gallon, followed by Toyota with 22.8.
Toyota's average was helped by the gas-electric Prius hybrid. It
had the highest combined fuel economy of any passenger car -- 46.2
miles per gallon.
Ford's Escape hybrid had the highest fuel efficiency of any
light truck, with 29.7 mpg.
